Updates
So I guess I lied when I said I was done changing the design and layout of the site... oh, well, sue me. No, seriously, that's part of what this "digital gardening" is about (see the previous entry), to make it my own, myself, this is a reflection —limited as it is— of my mind: chaotic, multifaceted, constantly changing —and only of a small part for that matter.
I renewed the layout for the Home and Stoicism sections, as well as the articles in Stoicism and added a few more articles there.
I also added a Manifesto 2.0, I'm much happier with this one, but I decided to leave the first one too. I like the name "Free Web" better for this "movement" of ours, but from what I've seen "Indie Web" has taken hold and it's the more widely used, it's almost as good, I guess.
Should I start thinking about moving the whole site to a private domain?
And I updated the HTML to be more in line with "semantic" HTML.
I have a few ideas for the comming updates and changes:
- Fix the navbars in all the pages. I like the idea of them being different in each page, so it's not a complete "menu" on each one, instead, one thing leads to another, more like a mind map. I just need to work on what leads where.
- I might update the layout for the independent articles with the background image and the text window. It was an experimental design, I still think it looks cool, but maybe I like a more "minimalistic" design better.
- Update the RSS feed. Does anybody actually use it? Not sure, but I like the idea and I think it goes really well with the "Indie Web" ethos. Maybe also add some contact info somewhere or even a "guest book" type of thing —but that involves php I think, I'm not very good with that, but I can probably figure it out—; for, like, networking and stuff, you know, get more "involved" with the movement or whatever.
- Add more external links. I've bookmarked a bunch of sites and "manifestos" that I'd like to share here too.
- Continue the Web Dev Deepdive page. Although it may change to a "Web Dev Deepdive" since I think next I'll add a section about Semantic HTML.
I've also started to include some texts in Spanish. Google should probably do a good enough job of translating those if any non-Spanish speaker is interested.
PS. Is it really already November? F. The year just flew by, didn't it?
